Guide to a Great Experience

Some preparations must be made as a passenger before embarking on the cruise. These preparations are essential to ensure a good time all-round. They include meeting Visa and passport requirements, meeting health requirements, and deciding what to take on the cruise board.

Cruise Guide1

Visas and Passports

The passengers are expected to possess a full passport. The passport must be valid for the entire duration of the cruise. It must have been valid for six months, at least, before the date of return to Australia or New Zealand. We encourage our passengers to begin the application progress early enough because it might take some weeks to obtain the passport, especially at peak times.

Clothes to Take with You

It is best to take along some casual, light, and comfortable clothing for everyday wear on the ship in terms of clothing. The boat has a swimming pool, so if you are interested in swimming, be sure to take a swimming costume with you. For passengers who love sports and fitness activities, you should bring gym shoes and sports clothes along.

You should bring comfortable shoes and footwear along. You should also bring along a visor, hat, and sunscreen for times spent above deck or out in the open.

Health and Medical Requirements

There are vaccinations and medications required. Passengers are advised to confirm with their travel agents or doctors. Please bring your special medications, use contacts, or glasses to bring extra pairs along with you. People with special needs are expected to have indicated a need for assistance early on. Please note that passage can be denied to anyone who is unfit to travel or constitutes a danger. We have a medical practitioner on board.

Onboard the Ship

There are some important instructions and information to note for the duration of your stay on the ship.

Pets

It is important to note that pets are not allowed onboard the MSC Poesia. This is for safety reasons.

Lost Property

In the case of lost property, the MSC cruises do not accept the responsibility for the property lost on the ship. Enquires can be made at the Information Office to find out if the lost item has been found. Passengers who come across an unattended item are requested to report to and hand it in at the Information Office.

Smoking

Smoking is allowed on the ship. However, it is only allowed on the deck and in the designated areas. Please note that smoking is not allowed in cabins or restaurants.

Accepting Visitors Onboard

For security reasons, passengers are not allowed to receive visitors on the ships.

Are Pregnant Women Allowed to Join the Cruise?

Yes. However, the pregnancy must be at 28 weeks at most by the end of the cruise. Pregnant women are required to present a medical certificate to confirm their fitness to travel while booking the cruise.

Keeping Valuables Safe

There are safe deposit boxes available onboard for free. You can store jewellery and other valuables in the deposit boxes.

Disembarking

There are procedures and formalities to be followed before disembarking. We will give instructions to ensure order.
